The head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, has urged consensus on the constitutional basis and electoral laws that would lead the country to stability.

Al-Mishri's comments came at a meeting Tuesday with the British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, in Tripoli.

A statement by the HCS media office said the meeting touched on the latest local and international political developments, requirements for the success of the elections, and ways to strengthen relations between the two countries.

In a related context, Hurndall also met with the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, at the Parliament's HQ in Tripoli, on Tuesday, where they reviewed political developments and the major issues in the Libyan arena.
