The head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled al-Mishri, and Interior Minister, Fathi Bashagha, on Wednesday, welcomed the formation of the new executive authority, which was elected by the political dialogue forum in Geneva last Friday.

During a meeting held at the HCS HQ, the two officials discussed means to support the new executive authority to perform its tasks and lead the country to the elections set to take place at the end of this year.

A statement by the HSC said that the meeting dealt with developments in the political and security situation in Libya, and in particular, the outcomes of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) sessions in Geneva.
