The member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, has stressed the need to develop a clear roadmap for the implementation of the electoral process within a specific timeframe.

This came during his phone call with the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, during which Al-Lafi said that he is counting on the House of Representatives to push the electoral process path forward, to achieve fair and transparent elections whose results are acceptable to all parties.

For his part, the US ambassador confirmed the US support for the Libyan elections, saying “while the next steps depend on Libyan leaders, the US strongly supports pursuing a path that can lead to free, fair, and inclusive elections within the original timeframe laid out in the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum’s roadmap”.
