A member of the Presidential Council (PC), Moussa Al-Koni, confirmed that the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tabboune has promised to reinstate flights between Tripoli and Algiers and to open the consulate in Sabha, along with the border crossings of Ghadames and Ghat for the transportation of goods between both countries.

At a press conference held at the end of his visit to Algeria, Al-Koni reiterated the necessity to hold the elections on time and implement the results of the Berlin conference, stressing the relevance of continuous cooperation and consultation with Algeria.

He further added that the aim of his visit to Algeria is to consult with President Abdelmadjid Tabboune on various matters of mutual concern, not least of which is that of their southern neighbours, such as Chad, Niger, and Sudan, and to discuss methods of cooperation with them in order to provide security for the common good at all borders.
