The Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Al-Haddad, has confirmed the intention to build a unified army which protects Libyan soil and does not turn its back on the constitution, nor kill its own people and destroy the homeland.

In his speech at the graduation ceremony of the 50th Class at the Military College in Tripoli, Al-Haddad added that the army would not permit the country to be the grounds for settling regional or international scores, and it will defend the state’s civil authority.

Al-Haddad also expressed his gratitude to the Turkish state for standing with Libya and repelling the aggression on Tripoli, noting that Turkey provided them with support to combat terrorism and assisted in preserving the sovereignty of Libyan soil.
