Security forces have arrested a group of men on the charge of encroaching a public forest land in the Municipality of Garabulli, east of Tripoli, the Interior Ministry said

The Agricultural Police caught the men with their machinery while attempting to take over the "Karawa" public forest in the Garabulli town. "They were planning to clear about six hectares of the land," said the Interior Ministry.

The police seized some machinery, a military vehicle, weapons, and an RPG launcher, according to the security officials, confirming that the encroachers were referred to the relevant authorities to pursue legal action against them.

The Agricultural Police of the Ministry of Interior is tasked with combating encroachments on agricultural projects, forests, water sources, and natural grazing lands.
