The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) confirmed Sunday that an oil leak from a well in the Majid field is under control.
Oil leaked from one of the wells due to "a cowardly act of sabotage" on Saturday, a statement by the company said on Facebook.
Considering the gravity of the situation, the company said it was unable to send the maintenance team on Saturday.
The engineers were dispatched to the sight in the early hours of Sunday, where they managed to seal the source of the leak, AGOCO said.
