The Head of the Presidential Council (PC), Muhammad Menfi, discussed Tuesday with Minister of Justice Halima Abdel-Rahman, the procedures that led to the release of several political prisoners during the past few days.

The two sides reviewed conditions inside the prisons, besides the cases of those who are still under detention.

Menfi reiterated the need to implement laws and respect all values of justice and human rights principles in a way that enhances the efforts of the Presidential Council to move forward with the comprehensive national reconciliation project.

Recently, the Libyan authorities released several senior members of Muammar Gaddafi's former regime, including his son Saadi and his secretary Ahmed Ramadan.
