Spokesman of U.S. Africa Command, Chris Karns, has said that both the Government of National Accord (GNA) and Haftar are aware of AFRICOM monitoring activity in Libya in support of counter-terrorism operations.
Karns added in statements to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that the US military command in Africa continues to monitor the security situation in Libya in its commitment to prevent any activity of extremist organizations and increase security in the region.
The US official declined to clarify the location of where the aircraft crashed, which was confirmed by AFRICOM a few days ago, saying that the incident is currently under investigation.
