The ‘Africa Intelligence’ website said that the United Nations (UN) will appoint private companies for the purpose of removal of land mines, planted by Wagner mercenaries from Tripoli and the surrounding areas, which they set as they fled the areas.

The website added that the project is to be funded by the UN, the United States and the European Union and will diligently work towards the removal of all anti-personnel mines and booby traps, along with any live ammunition, which were left by Haftar’s militia on the outskirts of Tripoli.

The website also indicated that it is hoped that by next May, the UN will contract international companies to clear all areas in and around the capital of all remnants of war.
