The Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections confirmed on Monday the suspension of advertising campaigns related to the municipal elections, due to be held in the city of Misrata in the near future.

This step was taken in implementation of recommendations issued by the Scientific Crisis Committee, set up to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic, who suggested the suspension of campaigns for a period of at least two weeks, to a future date, yet to be determined for the welfare of all involved.

It was noted that the recommendations of the committee were necessary to prevent gatherings and rallies, along with advertising campaigns to elect the new Municipal Council in Misrata.
