Head of media office at the Ministry of Economy at the Presidential Council’s government Mohammed Al-Shami said 700.000 cattle will be imported via contracts with 23 local companies.

The Ministry of Economy explained that imported livestock are arriving in time to cover local demand and challenge the hike in prices with the advent of Eid Al-Adha.

Al-Shami added that distributing the cattle will be though a reservation system and selling points within municipalities.
Last Wednesday, the Ministry of Economy announced scrapping tariffs on importing Eid Al-Adha livestock.
