The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) said that 5940 Libyans abroad have registered on the electoral roll in the period from February 1 to March 10.

The data released by the HNEC Sunday showed that Britain had the largest number of registrants, during the same period, by 1319 voters, followed by Libyan expats in Egypt with 1035 voters.

Libyan expats in the United States and Canada have reached 750 voters, while the Libyan expats in Turkey have reached 474 voters.

The HNEC had earlier decided to extend the registration period for overseas voters until March 12 as aspired to Libyans aboard who were not able to register for technical reasons.
