Over 50 car accidents were recorded during the month of June, The Traffic Department of Tripoli Security Directorate reported.

The Relations Office of Tripoli Security Directorate explained through its Facebook page Sunday that 13 people have died and more than 40 others injured due to high speed and lack of respect for traffic laws.

The office added that 87 vehicles were damaged, estimating the value of losses to be over 170 thousand Libyan dinars.

Last March, Tripoli Security Directorate revealed in a press conference that road accidents in 2017 caused the death of 2059 people, in addition to 2813 others injured.
