The Interim Government’s Interior Minister Ibrahim Bushanaf said they had revealed 416 forgeries of Libyan National ID numbers in the Benghazi Civil Registry Authority this year.
He added that in a meeting with the head of the Benghazi Civil Registry Authority Osama Al-Dressi last Saturday that the cases were lodged at the Public Prosecution and judicial offices in the city as the incident violates national security.
Bushanaf said the national ID must be preserved against all odds so the demographic structure of Libya can remain intact, adding that the IDs should not be allowed to be a tool for terrorists and political gains.
