Three people working for a company contracted with the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) were killed, while a fourth was injured in a landmine explosion in Benghazi.

The mine exploded during maintenance work on power lines in the area of Qawarsha west of Benghazi, according to the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior in the east-based Interim Government, Tariq al-Kharraz.

Local and human rights reports indicated that at least one incident of such kind occurs every month, the latest of which resulted in the death of a 13-year-old boy on September 18.
