A dismantling team from the Criminal Investigation Agency has managed to remove a bomb weighing about 250 kilograms from inside the Awlad Talis school in the Al-Saadiya area in Jafara west of Tripoli.
The Ministry of Interior said on Facebook Monday that the school was suspended due to the destruction caused by the clashes that took place in the region during the years 2019 and 2020.
"The dismantling team immediately moved to the site after receiving a tip about the presence of a foreign object in the school, which is likely to be a bomb," the ministry said, noting that the team confirmed that the bomb was dropped from a warplane.
The Ministry of Interior indicated that the bomb is of a very dangerous type, and contains more than 70 kilograms of high explosives, confirming that it was transported to the Al-Hira area and was successfully disposed of Monday morning.
