The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Libya announced that a staggering 216 immigrants have been returned to Libya during the period of merely two days after their vessels were dangerously close to sinking.
The UNHCR office added, in a tweet that the survivors were from Syria, Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, and Ethiopia.
The survivors were returned to the ports of Al-Zawiya and Tripoli and all necessary assistance was provided to them by the staff of the UNHCR and the International Relief Committee, according to the tweet.
