Minister of Local Government of the Presidential Council, Badad Qansu, confirmed that then ministry is preparing for the re-election of the municipalities whose terms are over.

In a press statement, Qansu said that approximately 12 municipalities are seeking their re-elections as well as offering their services to their respective councils to accommodate the election process.

Qansu added that 200 million dinar budget is due to be allocated to the municipalities across the country in the coming weeks to provide services to their citizens.

Last Saturday, the city of Zawiya held its first ever municipal election after years of being represented by a local council.
