The Director General of the International Organization for Migration, William Swing, said that the IOM is committed to the voluntary and safe repatriation of more than 15 thousand immigrants staying in the shelters in Libya to their countries before the end of this year.

In a report published on Friday, Swing said that the IOM is expanding its program of humanitarian voluntary repatriation of migrants to their countries of origin to include migrants who are outside the shelters and willing to return.

The report pointed out that this step comes in support of the European Union and African Union plan of alleviating the migration crisis in Libya.
