The Mayor of Central Tripoli, Abdul Raouf Bait Al-Mal, has confirmed the killing of more than 100 people and the injury of 496 others in Tripoli so far, as well as the displacement of 24 thousand citizens since the start of clashes in the suburbs of the capital two weeks ago.

"450 families were unable to stay at their homes Tuesday because of the fierce fighting, and they had to spend the night at mosques and schools," the mayor said in a press conference Wednesday, adding that the relief teams were unable to reach them or provide any support".

He also pointed out that the displaced persons have been distributed to other areas of Tripoli, as well as, Zintan, Zawiya, Jadu, Kikla, and Bani Walid, warning that the number of IDPs is expected to rise, as many have not been counted yet.
