WHO sends medical aid to Derna

The Libya Office of World Health Organization has provided urgent medical and humanitarian assistance to the city of Derna.

The head of WHO Libya, Dr. Jaffar Hussein, clarified in a press statement Monday that the organization managed to cover the primary healthcare needs for about 10,000 people for three months.

Jaffar explained that the aid included medical treatment for emergency cases, patients with high blood pressure, heart conditions, diabetes, some endocrine diseases, and respiratory diseases in addition to some mental health cases.

Earlier, the World Health Organization provided humanitarian aid and medical supplies to Derna hospital, stressing that the city is suffering critical shortages of medical supplies.
