The World Health Organization Representative in Libya, Dr Syed Jaffar Hussain, affirmed the United Nations commitment to continue providing and funding heart surgery for children in Libya in partnership with the Presidential Council and Novick Cardiac Alliance.

The UN mission in Libya said Tuesday that Dr Syed visited the National Center for Cardiac Therapy in Tajoura where surgeons from Novick Cardiac Alliance are conducting heart surgeries to children.

WHO Libya spokesman Ahmed al-aliki clarified on June 9 that the organization had agreed with the Libyan Ministry of Health on mechanisms to enhance the capacity-building measures of health service providers and district management in order to provide better health care services for citizen.
