The Director of the University Hospital of Tripoli, Dr. Nabil Al-Ajili, agreed with the Philippine Consul in Libya Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, to recruit 150 Filipino nurses to work in the hospital.

The hospital's Information Office clarified that Dr. Ajili agreed with the Philippine consul during a meeting on Monday, to recruit the nurses as a first and urgent step to fill the deficit in the vital sections of the hospital.

Dr. Ajili confirmed that this procedure will be an initial step towards the return of Filipino medical personnel to all health facilities in Libya.

He pointed out that there are (100) nurses currently working in the hospital, stressing that the hospital is in need, for more than (800) others.

He further noted that a specialized medical committee has been tasked to visit India and Bangladesh to address the short full of nursing staff in the hospital.
