Libya received Wednesday the second batch of AstraZeneca anti-Coronavirus vaccine (117.000 doses) via Tripoli's Mitiga airport.

The Libyan Health Ministry said it would start giving the second dose after finishing the first one for 70% of elderly, people with outlining diseases and first responders such as medical staffers.

The Libyan National Central for Disease Control will start, exceptionally, next Sunday vaccinating people who are going to Saudi Arabia for Hajj as per the Saudi government requirements.

57.600 AstraZeneca vaccine doses arrived in Libya last April, as the country prepares to receive Johnson and Johnson vaccine doses soon, the Health Ministry said.
