The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamid Debaibah, stressed the need for real partnership between the public and private sectors of the health sector and the development of an effective vision for the proposed health insurance project.

During his attendance of the first conference of the Federation of Libyan Clinics, Dbeibah stressed the necessity to initiate the banking sector in supporting the private health sector through investment, following the classification of clinics by the Ministry of Health.

Dbeibah stated that Libya needs to reorganize and monitor the private sector in a way that assists it in performing its tasks and duties in the required manner.

He further stressed that it is crucial not to be complacent with only serving main cities, but to provide access to the private sector services to inland and rural areas.

Dbeibah called for the development and promotion of the private sector, urging it to reach the highest standard of quality and professionalism, in order to provide citizens’ needs for medical services in a manner that spares the state the burden of spending millions of dollars on treatment abroad.
