The General Manager of the National Center for Disease Control, Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar, said that several Libyan patients receiving treatment in China have been evacuated back to their homeland in coordination with the Health Attache of the Libyan embassy in Beijing.

In a telephone conversation with the Libyan FM Health Channel of the National Center for Disease Control, Al-Najjar said that the total number of citizens at risk in China, is twelve, nine of whom were evacuated, while the remaining three will stay in situ for the purpose of completing any further travel arrangements.

Al-Najjar stressed that the patients underwent a complete medical examination by the Chinese authorities before leaving for Dubai, to then continue their journey on to the Republic of Tunisia.

Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar confirmed that they were cleared of the new corona virus and that they are in good health, adding that two of the citizens have already arrived in Libya. He also ensured that the Centre of Disease Control is in contact with them regularly and monitoring their health mentioning that, all preventative measures have been taken, particularly at the sensitive time until the end of the incubation period for the virus, which is fourteen days. He also indicated the remaining seven should reach Libya in the next two days.

Al-Najjar voiced his appreciation for the role played by the health authorities in Tunisia in following up the health condition of Libyan citizens through coordination and communication with the National Center for Disease Control.

It is worth noting that the National Center for Disease Control had issued a statement three days ago confirming that no cases of Corona virus have been registered in Libya to date.

The leader of the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that Chinese medical information shows that more than 80 percent of all patients merely show mild symptoms and should recover.  Another 14 percent suffer more severe complications such as pneumonia, leaving another 5 percent who remain in critical condition, meaning that 2 percent have died from the disease to date

It has been noted that the older the patients, the deadlier the results, leaving children at lower risk than their elders.
