The Libyan National Center for Disease Control said 26 samples for relatives of the first Coronavirus case in Libya tested negative for COVID-19.
In a statement on Thursday, the center said after tests were conducted at the Reference Laboratory, the results had turned out negative and none of the 26 relatives of the infected man had Coronavirus.
The center also indicated that four suspected Coronavirus cases had also tested negative after being referred to the laboratory on Wednesday.
The Libyan National Center for Disease Control said the four cases were: one at Al-Saraya Hospital in Alkhumus city; one on board a fuel tanker, and two at Al-Hadba Hospital in Tripoli.
On Wednesday, the center said it had sent to quarantine the relatives of the first positive Coronavirus case; a 73-year-old man who return to Libya from Saudi Arabia, via Tunisia, on March 05.
On Facebook, the center said the next of kin relatives of the man had been quarantined inside their houses, adding that rapid response teams visited the relatives and took 26 laboratory samples for testing.
An official from the rapid response teams said the family of the man with the COVID-19 had been in quarantine for a week and none of the relatives have respiratory problems.
