Libyan Health Ministry signs contracts with French hospitals to treat childhood cancer

The Libyan Health Ministry signed contracts with a group of French hospitals to treat childhood cancer and Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and other critical surgeries that aren't available in Libya.

The Ministry said Sunday the contracts include bringing French medical crew to Janzour hospital as a first step then there will be other hospitals, in addition to sending the critical medical cases for treatment to France.

The media office of the Health Ministry said the contracts signing comes after the agreement between the Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah and French President Emmanuel Macron when he visited Paris in June.

The Ministry said it will soon start measures to send children for treatment, adding that some cases are sent to countries that have no modern medical equipment for Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and other critical surgeries, and that soon, the Ministry will start receiving files of patients.
