Libya has conducted more than one million Covid-19 tests since the pandemic emerged in the country about a year ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.

The WHO indicated in its weekly report on the epidemiological situation in Libya that the number of infections has decreased 8% in overall national testing regions compared to last week.

"The rate of decline reached 16% in the western region, 37% in the eastern region, and 2% in the southern region," the WHO confirmed.

As for the fatalities, the organization indicated that in Epi-week 20, the number of new deaths further decreased by 20% compared to last week.

It also noted that there were no reports regarding a shortage of tests or lab reagents from any COVID-19 labs across the country.
