The Italian field hospital is due to open in Misrata in mid-October to teat wounded Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos fighters, local sources say.

The construction of makeshift military hospital is in full gear. It will be set up at Misrata Airport and will feature 60 Italian doctors and nurses, 135 logistics personnel and 100 Italian protection troops.

It is expected to operate for five months from the date of opening, which can be extended if needed.

The hospital is designed to have a capacity of 50 beds, but it will only operate with 12 beds in the first stage, the sources added. It will also include an intensive care unit and fully equipped operation room.
