The Government of National Unity (GNU) has issued instructions to prevent Coronavirus unvaccinated citizens and foreigners from entering all public and private institutions, including major markets, starting from mid-February, due to the high number of infections with the Coronavirus in the country.

In the same context, the deputy head of the scientific committee at the National Center for Disease Control, Ibrahim Al-Daghis, said that the currently recorded numbers of positive cases with the Omicron variant are unprecedented, stressing the importance of vaccination.

Al-Daghis noted that vaccines are available in all vaccination centers to all citizens over the age of 12, calling on citizens to follow precautionary measures given the sensitivity of the current stage.

He also stressed the importance of the role of municipal councils in implementing precautionary measures, saying that there is no point in stopping studies and closing educational institutions if gatherings continue in cafes and markets.
