Five municipalities in Greater Tripoli have called in a joint statement for reconsidering the budget spending to confronting the Coronavirus, and to involve them in managing this crises.

The statement called for, by the five municipalities, namely, Central Tripoli, Souq Al-Jum'aa , Abu Salim, Ain Zara, and Hai Al-Andalus, demanded an increase in the absorptive capacity in the isolation centres and intensive care units, raise the number of daily Covid-19 tests, upgrade the capabilities of those working in this sector, and pay their dues, calling on the GNA to adopt financial penalties, in order to deter violators.

They also called for implementing a unified central database under the supervision of the National Centre for Disease Control, explaining that parallel bodies are hindering efforts to track and evaluate the epidemiological situation.
