98 people have been burned during Milood celebrations in Tripoli, Burns and Cosmetic Hospital reported on Tuesday.

The hospital said 42 people suffered minor burns and 15 others had their limbs amputated due to the use of fireworks.

In Misrata, 15 cases of burns were reported, two of which were amputated.

Libya celebrated on December 23 the birthday of Prophet Mohammed, PBUH, which is locally known as Milood. The celebration is marked by the excessive use of fireworks across the country despite criticism by many people.
