The head of the Supreme Scientific Advisory Committee to confront Covid-19, Dr. Khalifa Al-Bakoush, has expressed support for the Education Ministry's decision to resume schooling.

Al-Bakoush demanded at a meeting with the Director of the National Center for Disease Control, Badr al-Din al-Najjar, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Adel Jumaa, strict monitoring of the health protocol implementation and an operational budget to provide cleaning and protective materials for schools.

For his part, the head of the Scientific Advisory Committee to confront the coronavirus at the Ministry of Education, Abdel Moneim Abu Laiha, said that reopening schools and universities is not an easy task, but closing them is not the solution either.

Abu Laiha indicated that the ministry has set a plan for the reopening of schools and higher education institutions based on an epidemiological guide, stressing that the epidemiological framework answers all questions and defines responsibilities throughout the academic year.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Shambash, a member of the Supreme Scientific Advisory Committee to Confront the Covid-19, said that "the epidemiological framework is excellent", commending the Education Ministry's cooperation with the committee.

"The Education Ministry was the only body that responded to the pandemic protocols and committed to providing all means to confront the pandemic," Shambash added.
