The member of the Presidential Council Mohammed Ammari Zayed has hailed the role of the Libyan teachers as well as all education sector personnel in improving the educational process, extending his apology to teachers for the lack of response to their demands.

His remarks came in a meeting he held with education supervisors of municipalities, representatives from teachers' syndicates and other officials.

Ammari briefed the attendees on the measures his Ministry will be taking regarding the closed schools and the recent orders regarding teachers and education employees.

He also talked about the steps taken by the Ministry of Finance that aim to unify the salary bracket for all state employees, in addition to pursuing the economic, administrative and financial reforms in the education sector.

Ammari also said that the health insurance fund will be targeting the teachers to be the first ones to benefit from its services.

The Presidential Council appointed Ammari as an Acting Education Minister until the procedures of separating the General Education and Higher Education Ministries are finished following the resignation of Othman Abdeljalil from his post as Education Minister due to that very decision.
