Exams at Tripoli University will be delayed for Sunday until a further notice over the abduction of the head of the financial and administrative affairs, Dr. Sayeed Maayof by an armed group last Thursday.
After an emergency meeting on Saturday at the university in the presence of teaching staff and students union members, a sit-in has been scheduled on Sunday at 10.00 am in front of the university's presidency building, the university's website said.
"We call on everyone at the university to take effective part at the sit-in and demand the release of Dr. Maayof." It added.
An armed group opened fire on Maayof's car on Thursday as he was leaving the university forcing him to stop and then led him to an unknown place, without naming their demands until today.
