The Ministry of Education said Friday it is dispatching a group of university students from Italian language departments to attend a two-month training course in Italy.

The former Government of National Accord signed at the end of 2020 a memorandum of understanding with Italy to support and consolidate cooperation in the education field between the two countries.

The 55 trainees arrived at the Carthage Airport of Tunisia on Friday morning, coming from Mitiga and Benina airports.

Minister of Education Musa Al-Maqrif said that the students would attend language courses in the Italian universities as part of a memorandum of understanding signed between Libya's Ministry of Education and its Italian counterpart.

According to Al-Maqrif, the group includes students from Misurata, Tripoli, Khums, and Benghazi, who have passed the required examinations, stressing that his ministry is keen on benefiting from the agreements and treaties concluded with other countries.
