The Education Minister Othman Abdeljalil has stated that teachers will get bonuses on every class they give, explaining that primary school teachers will get 12 Libyan dinars and secondary school teachers will get 15 dinars starting next November.

In a presser in Tripoli on Thursday after a meeting with the Head of Presidential Council and Minister of Finance, the Education Minister added that the health insurance program of teachers will soon be activated.

"School year is starting as scheduled; on October 15 in all sections of primary and secondary schools." He remarked.

It is noteworthy that the teachers syndicates in all of Libya's cities announced earlier a complete strike until demands of better financial conditions and health insurances for them and their families are met with agreement, vowing to hinder the start of the new school year if their demands were shelved as usual.

In the meantime, no official comment (for or against) had been issued by any syndicate regarding the Education Minister's statement and bonuses.
