The Ministry of Education in the Salvation Government has exempted the Arab and Muslim students studying in elementary, intermediate and secondary levels from paying tuition fees in all schools within the country.

Undersecretary of the ministry Khaled Rizik told Ajwa Net the decision came after claims from the Syrian community to the Education Committee in the GNC.

In 2012, the Ministry of Education abolished tuition fees on Arab students whose guardians had work contracts with the Libyan state.

The tuition fees, imposed on the Arab students in Libyan schools, is LYD 800 for each school year.
