The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah said Libya's oil production dropped from one million and 300.000 barrels per day (bpd) to one million and 260.000 due to leaks in pipelines, especially in Al-Waha locations.

Sanallah said losing 40.000 bpd is worth 3.5 million dinars, adding that the NOC lost 600 million dollars in lost selling opportunities due to lack of maintenance and huge leaks and that the NOC firms' debts reached 2.5 billion dinars.

Sanallah added in a video statement that the problems at Al-Waha oil firm are caused by bad infrastructure and pipelines, saying he was told Thursday of a new leak that could be the biggest in recent periods, referring the issue to a lack of funding and saying that some firms aren't able to pay the salaries of the workers.

Sanallah urged the House of Representatives to speed up the approval of the 2021 budget or pass the funds of the NOC exceptionally, indicating that they owe one of the companies they had contracted 160 million dollars.
