Repairs on the crude oil Zuqut-Sidra pipeline, which was bombed five days ago, ended on Sunday successfully.

News reports quoted a pipeline operating engineer as saying that production has resumed gradually after the completion of all repairs.

Pipeline repair operations began on Saturday after fire extinguishing operations were completed and the removal of damaged components.

The pipeline that extends to the oil port of Sidra was then tested, followed by the gradual pumping of oil this evening.

On Wednesday, the head of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, expected the repair to take approximately a week, adding that the damage was estimated to stretch along 30 to 35 meters of the 24-inch pipeline.

The bombing of the pipeline caused a cut in oil production by 70,000 to 100,000 bpd.
