Preparatory gatherings kicked off Tuesday of the subcommittees of the Libyan-Egyptian Joint High Committee which will convene on Thursday in Cairo.

The subcommittees reviewed agreements and MoUs between Libya and Egypt and ways to develop them to serve the joint interests of the two countries then present them to the Joint High Committee for activation, the media office of the Ministry of Economy said.

The first day of gatherings covered economy, trade, development, energy, industry, transportation and reconstruction as well as a variety of fields of joint cooperation, in addition to coordinating with the Libyan-Egyptian Joint Economic Room.

The Libyan-Egyptian Joint High Committee will convene on Thursday in the presence of Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah and his Egyptian counterpart, Mustafa Madboully, to increase trade exchange and sign new agreements between the two countries.

The Libyan Minister of Economy Mohammed Al-Hawij arrived with a delegation to Cairo to attend the preliminary meetings.
