The General Libyan Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (GLUCC) is gearing up for the first Libyan-Turkish Economic Forum scheduled to take place between 15th-16th October this year, in Istanbul.

The forum will be held in cooperation with the International Company for Organizing Exhibitions and Conferences and (ICF Fairs & Org), according to GLUCC statement on Facebook.

Several prominent businessmen and major retailers from both countries are expected to take part in the two-day forum, which will be hosted by the Pullman Hotel and the Conference Center in Istanbul.

The GLUCC hopes the forum will mark a new start in terms of openness, cooperation, and partnership, between businessmen and entrepreneurs in both countries.

The Government of National Accord (GNA) signed last August a memorandum of understanding with Turkey, which has the lion's share of the investment projects in Libya.

Turkish firms are behind 184 projects contracted between 2008 - 2012, which represents 20% of the total existing development projects in the country.
