The Presidential Council (PC) of the UN-proposed government has specified the tariffs imposed by customs laws on certain commodities after discussions with the Audit Bureau and the Central Bank of Libya.

The new law excluded four basic food commodities as well as the crude materials and the needed equipment for the local production.

However, other commodities were subject to customs tariffs ranging from 30% to 50% including electric devices, cars equipment, cleaning substances and other non-basic foods, besides children's goods constructions and agricultural materials and all kinds of meat.

The new law also said that the person wishing to import any goods must deposit the value of the customs tariffs at the customs department and will be returned if the letter of credits were canceled.

The law also says the customs department should collect the tariffs and then deposit it at the public budget account.
