The National Oil Corporation (NOC) officially announced Monday the opening of the Murzuq Oil Services Limited (MOSL), in London, in the presence of the Chargé d'Affairs of the Libyan Embassy in the UK and management board of the (NOC).

According to the oil state-run corporation, the MOSL will act as the overseas arm of the NOC to help national oil companies improve their business processes and corporate performance.

"MOSL's services include Consultancy Services, Market Research & Studies and Business Services, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Engineering, and Technical Staff and Support Services," the NOC explains.

It expressed hope that the step will add value for Libya's oil sector by collaborating with leading UK companies to deliver projects across Libya and ultimately globally.

"This London location provides MOSL with a hub for the talent in the UK of engineering and consulting companies and the excellent technologies which will support NOC and MOSL," the NOC added.

The NOC indicated that the new service company would also help implement its growth plan to expand its oil production to more than 2m barrels per day by providing training and development for their personnel.

On the sidelines of the opening ceremony, the NOC Head Mustafa Sanallah discussed with Lord Grimstone, British Minister for Investment at the Department for International Trade and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Libya's plans for developing its onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities, besides plans for shifting to renewable energies to meet carbon reduction targets.
