The member of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC), Jadallah Al-Okli, said the situation in the oil crescent region is very normal and the oil industry has not been affected by the Wednesday morning military operations that have been conducted by a coalition of Ibrahim Jodran forces, Defend Benghazi Brigades and pro-UN-proposed government’s brigades loyal to defense minister-designate Mihdi Al-Barghathi.

The coalition launched Wednesday an attack to retake the oil terminals from what they described as mercenary forces that are controlling the oil terminals for Khalifa Haftar’s forces.

Al-Okli told the press that oil production is ongoing normally and an oil vessel has been loaded with a shipment from Ras Lanuf terminal today.

“We have taken precaution measures in the oil crescent region and oil production is working just as usual.” Al-Okli added.

Forces loyal to the UN-proposed government’s Defense Ministry launched an offensive to liberate the oil terminals from the mercenary fighters of Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement.

However, the Presidential Council of the UN-proposed government issued Wednesday a statement disavowing the military escalation that took place in the oil crescent region today, stressing that it has not ordered any forces to assault those districts.
