The Ministry of Economy and Trade is considering steps to establish complex markets that offer a variety of stores such as foodstuff and other services in Tripoli.

According to the ministry, the project aims to survey and regulate commercial activities in the capital.

Economy Minister Muhammad al-Hawij discussed the project during a meeting on Tuesday with the president and members of the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, and the director of the ministry's administrative and financial affairs department.

Minister al-Hawij disclosed that the project would start in Abu Salim and Tajoura municipalities under the supervision of the competent authorities with the participation of the private sector.

He stressed the need for coordination between the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture and economic and commerce monitoring authorities in Tripoli to survey, as a first step, the economic and commercial activities.
