The Ministry of Finance of the Government of National Accord (GNA) said it sent the state employees' salaries to the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) on January 23.

The Ministry said in a statement that it was awaiting the CBL's approval or holding a meeting to discuss any hindrances, adding that it had received large number of messages on its social media pages from employees wondering about the delay of January salaries to mid-February.

A week earlier, the Ministry of Finance issued a statement complaining about the "prolongation" of the CBL in okaying the January state salaries' distribution, adding that the CBL said its excuse was that the 2020 budget and financial arrangements weren't approved yet.

In February 05, the GNA discussed the financial arrangements of 2020 and agreed to hold a meeting with the CBL, Ministry of Finance and Audit Bureau to further discuss the arrangement.
