The Libyan Oil and Gas Minister Mohamed Oun said the participation of the British oil companies in developing and upgrading the sector is important as the UK's stance toward Libya's conflict is neutral and boosts Libya's stability.

The Minister met with the UK ambassador Caroline Hurndall in Tripoli and expressed his wishes that she would succeed in her tasks amid the current regional and international developments and provide assistance to Libya on the road to security and peace.

Oun said Libya was keen on cooperation with the UK in oil and gas sector for the best interests of the two sides.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Oil and Gas; Refat Al-Abbar, who attended the meeting, said the participation of British companies in developing Libya's oil sector is very important as they have high-ranked expertise in this sector.
